Dr. Josiana Adelaide Vaz is an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and a Researcher at the LiveWell Centre for Active Living and Wellbeing. She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Porto. Her multidisciplinary career covers biomedical laboratory sciences, pharmacology, natural products and medical biotechnology. Her main research focuses on bioactive compounds from wild mushrooms and plants, antioxidant and antiproliferative activity, biomonitoring of environmental and occupational exposure, sericin-based biomaterials and sleep-related health determinants. She has authored over 50 scientific works, collaborated with more than 100 researchers and participates in several funded projects including IberLongeva, NSL – New Long-lived Societies, Bio4Drinks and Acorn4Med. She also holds multiple academic governance roles.
