Prof. Salvatore Magazù is Full Professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Messina, Italy. His scientific activity is strongly interdisciplinary, spanning experimental physics, biophysics, pharmaceutical sciences, cosmetic sciences and innovative materials. His research in cosmetics and cosmeceuticals focuses on the physicochemical characterization and optimization of cosmetic and cosmeceutical formulations, dermocosmetics, therapeutic applications, biomarkers, safety assessment, and advanced drug delivery and targeting systems. He has conducted international research activities in France through the Le Studium Institute for Advanced Studies and served as Chair of the COSMO – COSMetics in Orléans Consortium. Since 2022, he has served as President of the University Research Center for the Study of Extreme Environments and Extremophiles at the University of Messina. He is also a member of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Jury and President of the Interuniversity Consortium of Applied Physical Sciences (CISFA).
