Dr. Tao Xu is a Professor and former Chair of the Department of Social Work at Zhejiang Normal University, China. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from Sun Yat-sen University, and his M.A. and B.A. from Wuhan University. Dr. Xu has extensive experience in teaching and research related to mental health, migration, and social development. Over the years, he has served as a Visiting Scholar at the State University of New York, Albany, and has led several national and provincial research projects supported by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences and other institutions. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in international journals such as Ethnic and Racial Studies,International Journal of Mental Health Promotion,Urban Studies, Behavioral Sciences, Healthcare,and Risk Management and Healthcare Policy. Dr. Xu also serves on the Editorial Boards of Developmental Psychology Innovations , Social Science Research Frontiers and Evidence-Based Social Science, and is an active reviewer for several academic journals. In addition, he holds leadership roles in professional organizations, including Executive Vice President of the Jinhua Social Workers Association and Council Member of the Chinese Association of Social Work Education and the Zhejiang Sociological Association.

    Principal investigator for multiple national and provincial research projects, including studies funded by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences and the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation.
    His recent projects explore topics such as transnational business networks, international student mobility, and public attitudes toward foreigners in China.
