Biography

Professor Hsien-Yuan Lane is a Distinguished Professor at the College of Medicine, China Medical University (CMU), Taichung, Taiwan, where he serves as Director of the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Director of the Department of Psychiatry. He earned his M.D. from Taipei Medical University in 1987 and completed his Ph.D. at the National Defense Medical Center, Taipei, in 2000. Over the course of his career, Dr. Lane has held significant leadership roles, including Director of the Graduate Institute of Clinical Medical Science at CMU, and Adjunct Research Fellow at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica. Professor Lane is internationally recognized for his research in neuropsychopharmacology, cognitive neuroscience, and precision medicine, with a focus on understanding genetic and non-genetic determinants of treatment response in mental disorders, and developing novel NMDA-enhancing agents for the treatment of psychiatric disorders and dementia.

Biography

Prof. Giuseppe Lanza, MD, PhD, is a Full Professor and Dean of Applied Medical Sciences Techniques at the University of Catania, Italy. Born in Catania in 1982, he graduated with honors in Medicine from the University of Catania, where he also completed his Neurology residency and earned his International PhD in Basic and Applied Biomedical Sciences. He further trained as a Clinical Research Fellow in Neuroscience and Clinical Neurophysiology at Newcastle University, Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK). Lanza has extensive clinical and research experience. From 2013 to 2018, he served as Consultant Neurologist at the Oasi Research Institute–IRCCS in Troina (a WHO Collaborating Center), where he now heads the Clinical Neurophysiology Research Unit. He also held teaching positions at the University of Enna (Italy) and currently teaches at the University of Catania across several health professions and postgraduate courses.

Prof. Mateusz Krystian Grajek (born 21 February 1988 in Katowice, Poland) is a Polish psychologist and public health specialist. He holds the habilitated doctor’s degree in medical sciences and health sciences and is also doctor mult. (with two doctoral degrees). He is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Public Health in Bytom of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.

Biography

Prof. Sayed Ahmad Elwakeel is a Professor of Clinical Psychology with extensive academic and professional experience across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Benha University in 2006, following his M.A. (2003) and B.Sc. (1998) in Psychology. Currently, he serves as Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Fujairah, UAE, while also affiliated with Fayoum University, Egypt. Prof. Elwakeel has published over 100 works, including peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and conference papers, covering areas such as addiction, psychometric assessment, counseling programs, positive psychology, and mental health among vulnerable groups. His research interests span clinical psychology, psychometrics, family and neuropsychiatry, and the psychological impacts of social issues. In addition to teaching and research, he actively contributes as a reviewer and editorial board member for numerous international journals.
