Scope and Mission

Journal of Climate Systems and Environmental Change (jcec) is a globally recognized, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to promoting research and innovation within the diverse areas of climate systems and environmental change. It acts as a medium for sharing high-quality research related to Confseries as well as the wider domain of climate systems and environmental change. jcec encourages the submission of original, scientifically sound manuscripts that present new perspectives, support cross-disciplinary collaboration, and contribute to both theoretical and clinical advancements in the pharmaceutical domain.

Manuscript Submission Process

Manuscripts can be submitted either through the official online submission system or by sending them directly via email to editor@confseries.net. After the manuscript is received, the corresponding author will be provided with a unique manuscript ID within three (3) working days. This ID can be used to track the status of the submission and for any future communication.

Compliance with Public Access Policies

To adhere to the NIH Public Access Policy, jcec ensures that NIH-funded articles are submitted to both PubMed and PubMed Central following publication. This policy also applies to research funded by the UK Research Councils and the European Union, supporting open access and transparency in the dissemination of biomedical research.

Editorial and Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated through a structured editorial review, followed by a thorough double-blind peer review. The journal accepts a variety of manuscript types, such as original research papers, in-depth reviews, educational case reports, expert perspectives, and methodological advancements. Authors are encouraged to include figures, tables, and illustrations to enhance clarity and comprehension.

Expedited Review Option (FEE-Based Service)

For authors seeking faster processing, jcec provides an optional expedited review track:

• Initial Editorial Evaluation: Completed within 3 business days
• Peer Review Feedback: Delivered within 5 business days
• Final Editorial Decision: Issued within 2 business days after peer review

Article Categories Accepted

The journal welcomes submissions in the following categories:

• Original/Research Articles: Present new findings based on original data (2,500-9,000 words)
• Review Articles: Offer detailed and critical insights on contemporary subjects by field experts (1,500–6,000 words)
• Case Reports: Share rare, noteworthy, or instructional clinical scenarios (1,000-2,000 words)
• Commentaries: Brief, insightful perspectives on emerging topics or recently published work (1,000–1,800 words)
• Methodological Papers: Propose or improve upon research or clinical methods
• Letters to the Editor: Provide feedback on published material or raise relevant points and critiques (500–1,000 words)
• Editorials: Focused viewpoints or reflections (900-1,200 words)

Submission Requirements and Formatting Guidelines

Required Documents:

• Title Page (DOC format): Should include the manuscript title, full names of all contributing authors, their institutional affiliations, and complete contact information for the corresponding author.
• Main Manuscript (DOC): The main document should present all content, with tables (not exceeding two pages each) positioned at the end.
• Figures: Submit high-resolution images separately in JPG, PNG, PPT, or DOC/DOCX format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
• Cover Letter (DOC): Clearly describe the manuscript's significance, its relevance to jcec, and disclose any conflicts of interest.
• Suggested Reviewers: Provide the full names and official email addresses of two potential reviewers who have no recent collaborations or conflicts of interest with any of the authors.

Disclosures and Acknowledgments

• Acknowledgments: Recognize the contributions of individuals who are not listed as co-authors. Ensure prior written permission is obtained from anyone mentioned.
• Funding Disclosure: Clearly state the names of all funding organizations and include grant numbers, where applicable.
• Conflict of Interest Statement: Disclose any financial, institutional, or personal affiliations that may appear to influence the work. If none exist, state explicitly: “None to report.”

Figures, Tables, and Supplementary Materials

• Tables: Should be listed in order (e.g., Table 1, Table 2) and formatted using MS Word’s table feature. Include all tables at the end of the manuscript.
• Figures: Submit as standalone files. Include a clear caption for each figure in the manuscript text, not within the image itself.
• Supplementary Material: May consist of additional data, appendices, or multimedia elements. Combine all into a single PDF for submission.

Reference Style and Citations

• References should be cited in the text using sequential numbers enclosed in square brackets, such as [1], [2], and so on.
• If a source includes six or fewer authors, list the names of all contributors. For publications with more than six authors, name the first six followed by “et al.”
• Only sources that have been published or formally accepted for publication (in press) should appear in the reference list. Do not cite unpublished work or personal communications.

Editorial Assessment and Revision Process

Each manuscript submitted to the Journal of Climate Systems and Environmental Change (jcec) is initially reviewed by the editorial team to determine whether it aligns with the journal’s scope, meets quality benchmarks, and complies with ethical standards. Only those manuscripts that fulfill these preliminary criteria—around 70%—are forwarded for external peer review.

If a manuscript requires revisions, authors will receive a formal decision letter containing detailed reviewer comments. Authors are expected to resubmit their revised manuscript within 7 days of receiving the notification. In exceptional cases, extensions may be granted upon a written request to the editorial office.

Proofing and Final Publication

After a manuscript is accepted, the corresponding author will be provided with galley proofs in PDF format through email for final verification. Authors should thoroughly review the document to identify and correct any typographical, formatting, or factual issues. Please note that significant changes—such as alterations to data or the list of authors—are not allowed at this stage.

Printed versions of the final article can be obtained upon request. Authors wishing to receive hard copies for personal or institutional use should contact the editorial office to make the necessary arrangements.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The Journal of Climate Systems and Environmental Change (jcec) is an independent, open-access journal devoted to the prompt and unrestricted sharing of quality scientific research.

To support essential functions such as editorial services, peer review management, digital preservation, and global indexing and access, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable only after a manuscript has been accepted.

Standard Article Processing Charges:

The journal upholds the principles of transparency, integrity, and open access in scholarly publishing. Authors who need financial support or are eligible for institutional discounts are advised to reach out to the editorial office before submitting their manuscript to inquire about potential waiver opportunities.
