MD
Although my CV is briefly summarized below, I believe my most significant contribution lies in research and teaching. In addition to serving as an Associate Professor for over 20 years, I have trained more than 200 residents and 100 consultant physicians across various medical specialties in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques related to echocardiography.
I became a European Supervisor and Mentor in Critical Care Echocardiography, and one of my greatest achievements has been helping to transform the use of echocardiography in acute medicine from being rarely used in Spain, South America, and parts of Europe, to becoming an indispensable diagnostic tool today.
I have supervised more than 20 doctoral theses, authored 5 books, and published over 200 scientific papers (h-index 41). I am proud that my students, especially my residents, have become international pioneers in this field a transformation that took nearly 25 years, from the early days when my first presentation at a national congress was met with skepticism, to today, when the discipline is globally recognized.
